My name is Taylor and I've had a fun journey discovering where my interests lie. At Georiga Tech, I initially was interested in Biomedical Engineering, but I quickly discovered that I should leave that field to those who are less clumsy with chemicals.
I became really interested in projects that my computer science friends were working on, such as robots and websites. I loved the self-expression it incorporated and the diversity of impactful applications within software development. I ended up earning my BS in Computational Media, which is a mixture of design and computer science classes. A user interface class piqued my interest in Georgia Tech's Human-Computer Interaction master's program, which I later enrolled in.
Through this program, I immersed myself in multi-disciplinary projects that incorporated UX design, psychology principles, data visualization, industrial design, and software development. I also had the opportunity to complete two internships in front-end development, one with the Bank of America in New York, and another with Fitspot Wellness in Atlanta, which is a startup that brings in personal trainers to the worksplace to help employees stay active on the job. These experiences grew my interest in cross-platform app development and gave me a chance to implement user-friendly interfaces in the real world.
Now I continue to grow as a front-end developer and UX designer. I love the insights into people's behavior and how I can use that information to inform the design and implementation of technology.
